Summer 2012 saw the biggest sporting event since the 1940’s to come to our shores. The London 2012 – Olympic and Paralympic games. One of the locations would be the sailing at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy and the Portland Marina. Due to strict IOC (International Olympic Committee) brand guidelines, all event venues such as the Sailing Academy were all subject to a ‘clean venue’ program. This involves the concealing of all non-games associated branding and corporate identity. contractor to supply all hardware and printed products, Icon subcontracted to us to provide the essential local support to enable the fit out at the venue. Having completed the ‘clean venue’ operation, word soon spread to the sailing team of our work. By recommendation we soon found ourselves contracted to aid in the implementation of the ‘Look of the games’; involving the installation of graphics and branding materials on buildings, floors, pontoons and lampposts for both the Olympics and Paralympics. Our fully qualified IPAF PASMA CSCS crew put in a tremendous effort battling the weather and the immoveable deadlines, all with great success and applause. The team lead by Jamie Ross-Hulme – Venue Look Delivery Manager, ensured the timings for the project were met at all times, day or night.

Swift Signs are proud to have completed this project with Chesil Vista Holiday Park, Weymouth, part of the Waterside Holiday Group Ltd. We were briefed to replace the existing signage to reflect the new exciting brand image of the Park. It was essential that the front of house signage reflected the highest quality and exacting standards that are common place within the holiday park and the group as a whole. After conducting a thorough site survey we created new designs for the signage to fall in line with the new brand image. We decided to retain the core steel framework and replace the existing signage with an aluminium casing to completely cover the structure giving clean lines to the whole sign. A combination of 3D painted stainless steel lettering and 10mm thick CNC cut acrylic lettering, using stainless steel fixings, will ensure that the signs will have a long life located in what can be one of the harshest environments in Dorset. Our fully qualified, in-house installation team completed fitting the new signs without disruption to the camp operation during this busy period of the holiday season. Swift will continue with updating signage across the Waterside Holiday Group at another first class venue, Osmington Holiday Park.
